Having problem with your children body weight?? TIPS 4 PARENTS....

Parents are the most important role models for children. One in 10 children are overweight and out of shape largely due to inactivity and junk-laden diets. Teaching healthy habits at an early age is important because change becomes difficult with age.

Most people know that good nutrition is essential to staying healthy. What some people don't realize is that eating the right foods is also important for their oral health.

One in 10 children are overweight and out of shape largely due to inactivity and junk-laden diets. Healthy eating means eating a variety of foods so that your child gets the nutrients (such as protein, carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, and minerals) he or she needs for normal growth. Your child can eat all types of food, as long as his or her weekly intake is balanced and varied.

A few helpful tips for Healthy Eating:

  • Make healthy foods available at home.
  • Try to have at least two fruits or vegetables with every meal.
  • Canned and frozen vegetables are often less expensive and have a long shelf-life.
  • For children over age two, choose 1% or fat free milk rather than whole or 2% milk.
  • Help your kids have healthy attitudes about food.
  • Don't force your kids to clean their plates. Let them decide when they're full.
  • Snacks for Healthy Smiles and Healthy Bodies
  • Water is the most necessary nutrient of them all - so necessary that people can't survive for more than a few days without it. More than half of the weight of your body is water - if you weigh 60 pounds, fewer than 25 of those pounds are minerals and other solid stuff. The remaining pounds are water. Learn about the importance of drinking water.
